Meet the Trainer

Welcome! I'm Meghan and I am so glad you are here.

I grew up with dogs and took an interest in training at an early age. When I got married and started raising service dog puppies, I began to realize just how much I did not know! Through extensive training, research, and a lot of hands-on experience, I transformed my passion into expertise.


Today, I am a full-time professional dog trainer, dedicated to helping people like you. I work with families who want to have a well-behaved dog so they can do all of the fun things together - from hanging out at home to enjoying all of the dog-friendly options our region has to offer.


I have faced some of the same challenges you may be going through; from juggling a new puppy while working a full-time job, to dealing with serious behavior concerns in my own dog.  My own struggles gave me the knowledge I needed to create programs that help others overcome similar challenges.

Meghan was a huge help to our family and our 1YR-old rescue Cosmo. She was a pro through and through and helped us gain more confidence with Cosmo, who came to us with a wide range of anxiety/reactivity issues (people, other animals). After sessions at our home and a boarding stay at Beacon Bay, Cosmo learned his "inside manners" first and built from there to eventually be much better on walks on/off leash. In addition to Cosmo's lessons with Meghan, we've also enjoyed several of the Beacon Bay outings where we/Cosmo can socialize (and get training brush-ups) with other Beacon Bay alumni. In short, we found Meghan's training and support to be absolutely worth the investment and highly recommend Beacon Bay to others.

We had a wonderful experience with Meghan and her family and dog friends. Our puppy was looking to control the house. Meghan came to our rescue and taught Zoey and us the proper tools and techniques to create the behavior we needed. We are traveling across the country now and her new skills make it a pleasure in various settings. Meghan is great with pups and relates well to their families as well. Our Labradoodle was 7 months old when she started her training with Meghan. She was jumping on everyone and impossible to take on a walk. After training for two weeks and following up weekly with Meghan she is delightful! We don’t have to panic when we have people over that she is going to attack them and our grandchildren now enjoy playing with her. Letting her run on the golf course is wonderful knowing that when we call her she responds immediately and sits by my side. It’s the best!

Our dogs both love people, especially children, and were also extremely excitable and overzealous in their greeting of our young grandchildren and other visitors, jumping on them and being totally out of control. They now go to their "place" or bed when asked and stay there until they are released. We recently had a utility worker spend about 45 minutes inside our house and both dogs went to their beds when asked and remained on their beds the entire time, without being corrected. This is something we never could have imagined prior to their training with Meghan. We continue to work on some things and at being consistent with what we've learned, but all in all our expectations were more than exceeded.
