Our programs are designed so you can choose the one you want based on your preferences.
The biggest difference between our programs is how much time we spend together and how much of the training we do FOR you. You can choose how much direct help you prefer and how much time we spend with your dog at the start.
The more time we have together (and the more time we have with your dog 1-on-1) the faster it works and the more your dog will learn in a shorter period of time.
Every dog is different. So is every family. Some dogs pull hard on the leash. Some dogs bark and lunge at other dogs. Some dogs cannot relax when you leave the house. Our programs help with all of these problems.
Each program starts with a board and train stay. Your dog lives with me in my home while I teach the basics every day. Then I teach you the same skills, so your dog listens to you, not only to me. Group classes give you support after the stay is over.

FRESH START DOG TRAINING PROGRAM
Who is this program for?
our Fresh Start dog training program is a good fit if your dog jumps on guests, pulls on walks, or does not listen in the yard. It is also a good choice for families with a young dog who is full o f energy but has no manners. If your main goal is a calm, polite dog at home, start here.
Your home is your sanctuary, a place to relax and unwind, whether on the patio in summer or cozied up inside in the winter. You want your dog to be right there with you, calmly hanging out. This program also ensures your dog learns to be polite in the yard, so you will not have to worry about them bothering the neighbors.
This program is usually completed in about three weeks and includes:
- Four-day stay with the trainer to give your dog a jump start in their training
- Two one-on-one lessons so you know that your dog will listen to you
- Six months of group training classes to get all of your questions answered
- All recommended equipment is provided so you will have what you need
FRESH START PLUS DOG TRAINING PROGRAM
Who is this program for?
Fresh Start Plus is for families who want to take their dog more places. Think of dog-friendly patios in downtown Traverse City, a day on the boat, or a walk on the TART Trail. Your dog will practice around people, other dogs, and new sounds. The extra days and lessons give your dog more time to learn to listen when it matters most.
You have always dreamed of having a well-mannered dog by your side for life's adventures, and now is the time to make it a reality. Imagine a dog that listens to you, whether they are loose in the yard or on an off-leash hike. You want to be able to bring your dog along for a day on the water, hiking, dining out, or maybe just hanging out with friends by the fire pit.
This program is also suitable for families who prefer the higher level of reliability that comes with this program. No hiking required! ;-)
This program is usually completed in about six weeks and includes:
- Seven-day stay in my home to complete the training foundation.
- Four private lessons so you can learn how to continue your dog's training
- 12 months of group training classes so you can get all the help you want
- All recommended equipment is included
FRESH START ELITE DOG TRAINING PROGRAM
Life is busy, and your time is important! Balancing dog training with your demanding schedule can be tough. Our premium program offers extra support to ensure your dog’s behavior is impeccable. We can provide pick-up and return services for your dog’s training, and we offer private lessons at your location.
If you travel frequently, this program reduces stress by ensuring your dog behaves well on the road and in new places. It is also ideal for dogs with serious behavior issues like leash reactivity, aggression, or separation anxiety.
Help for serious behavior problems
Some dogs need more than basic manners. If your dog lunges at other dogs, growls at visitors, or panics when left alone, you may feel stuck. Many families feel embarrassed or afraid to take their dog out. You are not alone, and it is not too late.
I specialize in behavior modification. The ten-day stay gives me time to learn what triggers your dog. Then I build a plan to change how your dog feels and acts in those moments. The unlimited lessons make sure you get all the help you need after your dog comes home.
